Rhinoplasty
Nose is the center of the face and is one of the features that can enhance the overall attractiveness of the face. Disproportionate or deformed nose is one of the major concerns of many people. Hence, F Clinic would like to provide you with the confidence in our highly experienced and skilful plastic surgeons, along with our high quality services, operating rooms, and medical equipment – all of which have been specifically selected to solve the issues of undesired nose shape, while enhance the beauty of your nose. Rhinoplasty embraces both elements of science and art. It requires advanced knowledge, expertise, and skills of the surgeon in order to design a perfect shape of the nose that corresponds to the needs and corrects the problem of each individual. F Clinic provides a perfect solution to all your concerns, including a low nasal bridge, flat or thin nasal tip, lacking dimension, and a nose shape that is inconsistent with the physiognomy. Our medical team will take into consideration the shape of the face, distance between the two inner eye corners, lips, flexibility of nasal tissues, cheekbones, and each individual’s needs –all of which will determine the shape, height, and width of the nasal implant.
4 Popular Types of Rhinoplasty
4 Reasons for Undergoing Rhinoplasty
Wide Nose: the nasal wings are wide and expand outwards, and the nostrils are larger than the standard
Curved Nose: the nasal bridge is bent to one side, causing the shape of the nose to be deformed
Flat Nose: the nose is flatter than usual, which results in a lack of facial dimension
Humped Nose: the presence of nasal hump on the bridge, similar to the hump of camels
Two Options of Rhinoplasty Available at F Clinic
1. Open Technique
This open technique of rhinoplasty employs a minor incision at the nasal base. This approach may leave visible scars on the outside. In addition, external rhinoplasty can adjust a variety of shapes of the nose; it can increase the length of nose, decrease the size of the nose, straighten curved nose, and remove nasal hump. This open approach is performed by making a vertical incision to reveal the bridge. After that, the tissue and skin are separated to expose the structure of the nose more clearly.
Advantages
- Can adjust the shape of the nose in a more complete and perfect way, due to a clear exposure of the nasal structure
- Can correct the nasal tip for a natural and enhanced appearance, while prevent skin thinning or the risk of silicone extrusion
4 - Lower risk of bent or curved nose
Disadvantages
- More complicated and longer surgical procedure than regular technique
- Longer period of swelling
2.Closed Technique
This closed technique is a regular rhinoplasty approach. Surgical incisions are positioned inside the nostrils, in which silicones will be inserted through the nostrils, from the bridge to the nasal tip. An extensive silicone is not recommended due to the risk of silicone extrusion.
Advantages
- Internal incision requires less surgical time
- Easy post-surgery care
Disadvantages
- Higher risk of bent or curved nose than external rhinoplasty
- Cannot increase the height of the nasal bridge and tip as much as external rhinoplasty
Additional Information: Nasal augmentation performed concurrently with nasal wing reduction
This technique is employed to correct undesirable nasal structure, such as wide nostrils and large nasal wings. “Nasal wing reduction” is one of the approaches of rhinoplasty that decreases the size of nostrils to be in complement to the face. Surgical incisions are positioned inside the nasal wings, thereby concealing the wound.
- Internal incision of nasal wing is very common, since the wound will be concealed inside the wing. This technique will narrow down the wing.
- External incision of nasal wing is suitable for individuals with extremely wide nose. This technique will make the nose appear significantly narrower, but the wound will be on the outside.

Preparation before Undergoing Rhinoplasty at F Clinic

- No intake of painkillers and NSAIDs prior to the surgery, such as aspirin and ibuprofen, in order to reduce the appearance of bruises from blood congestion after the surgery

- No intake of unwholesome food, such as preserved food and soft drinks, as well as seafood at least 1 week prior to the surgery

In case of chronic diseases, immunodeficiency, and other diseases such as hypertension, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes, consult with the surgeon before undergoing the surgery to minimize the risks after the surgery, such as higher risk of infection than normal people
